Michael Giovanni Amato (AKA “Giovanni”) comes from a family of talented musicians. His father, John Amato, is a recorded saxophone artist with Motown, and currently plays the sax, jazz flute and sings at the church he ministers.His mother, Fran Amato, plays multiple instruments including the bass guitar, piano and drums, as well as sings. His brother Dominic Amato is a highly respect jazz saxophonist, well known in the Arizona valley and making a name for himself in the jazz world, and now currently resides in Nashville, TN with his beautiful family of 4 children and wife.
Giovanni began singing at an early age, but it wasn’t until he joined a church choir that he began to discover that he had a true gift and passion for singing. At 19 he moved to Denver, Colorado for a new beginning. While in Denver, he began doing studio recording sessions for various local artists. In the year 2000, at the age of 20, he moved back to Arizona and became a member of Tribe 7, a local dance band, and he began his professional career as a vocalist. He continued singing with Tribe 7, but further established his name singing with other various artists and bands all over the valley such as: Tierra, True to Life, The JJ’s Band, New Destiny, The Hampton’s Band, Str8 Up, Shining Star, Reborn Disciple, Quantum, Soul Check, 602 Rising and now The Static Dance Band.
Crowds have enjoyed his charismatic charm and amazing performances at the Phoenix Suns Games, Diamondback Games, night clubs, corporate events, charity balls, casinos, Weddings and private parties all over the valley. Gio has entertained at The House of Blues in Anaheim California, The Las Vegas Jazz Festivals, The Arizona Jazz Festivals, The Cajun House, Mandalay Bay Casino in Las Vegas, The Riviera Casino in Vegas, The Hilton Hotel in San Diego CA, Barcelona in Scottsdale and Chandler, WildHorse pass Casino, Lone butte Casino, Harrah’s Ak Chin Casino, Cliff Castle Casino, Spa Resort and Casino in Palm Springs, Chuckchansi Casino in Yosemite Park California, American Red Cross, Make a Difference Foundation, The Verve Lounge at Us Airways Arena, the half time show at US Airways, Phoenix Suns charity events, The Biltmore, The JW Marriott, The Venue, The Arizona Beach Club, The Velvet Room, Mastro’s in Scottsdale, Hon-Dah Casino, Eulich Gardens Six Flags Denver Colorado, Mateo’s, The Orange Tree Golf Resort, Phoenix Jazz Festival, Phoenix Open, The Barrett Jackson Gala, Oscar Taylor’s and many, many other hot spots and special events.
TEN29 is a duo made up of brothers Dominic and Giovanni Amato. After years of performing separately and together on the stage, they decided to come together and collaborate on a new project. The name TEN29 represents the days that the brothers were born. Dominic was born on January 10th and his younger brother, Giovanni, was born on August 29th.
Dominic plays several instruments on the album, such as the saxophone, keyboard and vocoder/EWI (electrical wind instrument). Giovanni is the lead vocalist and collaborates on song writing.
TEN29’s first release, “Bring the Funk Back”, was a funk song that pays homage to the history of funk legends like James Brown, Parliament and Sly and the Family Stone.
“Speed of Light” is an entirely different approach to the music Dominic and Giovanni have created in the past. It offers up familiar EDM synth programming sounds, but takes a different approach to the genre. Adding a signature live instrumentation style, which is uncommon in EDM, featuring Akil Thompson on Bass, Paul David on guitar and Dominic Amato performing Vocoder and live horns, is unique to this particular genre – setting TEN29 apart from the rest.

His ability to sing a wide range of music and his incredible vocals have been bringing crowds to their feet and leaving them wanting more! With his young son Elijah by his side, he is even more inspired to take his career to the next level. With over 2 decades years of experience singing other peoples music, he’s excited to be working on a new project and anxious to make his own solo album. He feels God has truly blessed him with a talent that he can use to spread a good, inspiring message with, and it’s his dream to be able to share his voice and music with the entire planet.
Giovanni currently performs with The Shining Star Band and the Static Dance Band, mainly performing at Corporate Events, Private Parties and occasional Weddings.

Giovanni is currently undergoing work in the studio as a voice actor for a children’s educational series, as a cartoon adventurer fox named Kai. He has also recently worked on parody jingles for various online companies based out of Scottsdale, Arizona.
Giovanni was also recently featured as guest singer on his brother Dominic Amato’s most current single called “Good News Coming”. Available soon on all major music websites.
